Professionals will need skills in data analytics, cybersecurity and technology integration to leverage these advancements effectively.%uf0a7 Circular Economy (e.g., Waste Re-use): Emphasizing the reuse, recycling, and reduction of waste materials, circular economy practices will become integral to port operations. Port professionals will need expertise in sustainable waste management and circular economy strategies to minimize environmental impact and maximize resource efficiency.%uf0a7 Automation of Port Systems/Autonomous Ships/Robotics/Drones. Automation will redefine port operations, with autonomous ships and robotics streamlining cargo handling and logistics. Drones will enhance surveillance and environmental monitoring, improving safety and efficiency in port areas. Port professionals will need to adapt to these technologies, acquiring skills in robotics, AI, and remote operations to maximize productivity and safety.%uf0a7 Electrification/Hybridization of Port Systems and Equipment: The electrification and hybridization of port machinery and equipment will reduce reliance on fossil fuels and enhance operational efficiency. Port professionals will need to adapt to new electrified infrastructure and acquire skills in electrical engineering and hybrid technology integration.%uf0a7 Energy Autonomy and/or Supply of Green Energy to the Grid: Ports in Greece will strive for energy autonomy by harnessing renewable sources like solar and wind power.
