BLUE PORTS | D2.5 Identification of present and future skills needs 45%u2022 Alternative Fuels: Knowledge is generally higher in Spain compared to Greece, with Georgia falling in between.%u2022 Circular Economy: The knowledge levels are similar across countries, with Spain showing no %u201cPoor Knowledge%u201d responses, while Georgia includes poor knowledge responses.%u2022 Environmental Protection: in this area the level of knowledge is %u201cGood%u201d or %u201cBasic%u201d, with Spain's knowledge levels being consistent across different topics.%u2022 Digitalization/Automation: This area has the lowest knowledge levels, reporting %u201cPoor%u201dor %u201cNo knowledge%u201d in both Energy Management Systems and AI For Energy Optimization.Environmental Protection and Energy Transition are considered highly relevant for current work, while Alternative Fuels are deemed less relevant. This aligns with the levels of knowledge reported in these areas.GREEN SKILL DEMANDS AND SHORTAGES IN THE PORTS WORKPLACESThe analysis underscores a significant disparity in the relevance, knowledge, and availability of green skills across various countries and sectors within the port industry. While wellestablished areas like Environmental Protection and Energy Transition receive substantial focus, critical areas such as Alternative Fuels and Digitalization/Automation For Green Transition face considerable skill gaps. The demand for specialized training and education at Management and Strategic Levels is evident, as professionals must be better equipped to meet the evolving requirements of the Green Transition in ports.Relevant areas and Knowledge Gaps Environmental Protection and Energy Transition are the most relevant areas for current port operations, whereas Alternative Fuels are deemed less relevant but recognized as the most critical area for future strengthening. Digitalization And Automation For Green Transition rank lower in urgency but still reflect a significant gap that needs to be addressed as ports modernize. These findings reveal that professionals in the port sector need greater expertise in Alternative Fuels and Digitalization to meet future demands. There is a consistent need for improved knowledge and training, particularly at leadership levels, where decision-making and strategic planning require a deeper understanding of green technologies. However, Green Transition knowledge is also necessary at the Operational Level, indicating a demand across all levels of the workforce.
