BLUE PORTS | D2.6 State of the art report on the BLUE-PORTS common training methodology 41. INTRODUCTIONThe present document details the training methodology developed for the BLUE PORTScourses Port Sustainability Adviser/Officer and Port Sustainability Operator. Such a methodology is the outcome of an analysis carried out within BLUE PORTS project to identify skills gaps in the current port workforce, with respect to those necessary to support the transition to clean energy and circular economy. The learning needs and the current gaps in the training offer were also assessed at the EU level to identify the core areas and contents of the BLUE PORTS training.The information gathered during the analysis was used to define learning objectives, the methodological approach of the training and training content, as well as the methods and materials, in consistency with the criteria and priorities set by the Blue Economy Strategy, the Offshore Renewable Energy Strategy, the Circular Economy Action Plan and the European Skills Agenda 2020.The present document builds on the results and outcomes of tasks T2.1 Setting up the BLUE PORTS baseline - Identification of relevant initiatives and potential synergies, T2.2 Establishing collaboration framework amongst blue industry and education sectors-Certification Technical Committees, and T2.3 Identification of present and future skills needs to be addressed by the BLUE-PORTS scheme and T5.1 Certification scheme requirements, and their associated deliverables, i.e. D2.1 BLUE-PORTS baseline report, D2.2 First Report on the National Technical Committees operation, D2.5 Identification of Present and Future Skills Needs to be Addressed by the BLUEPORTS Scheme and D5.1 BLUE PORTS certification scheme study and documentation.This report will serve as a foundational starting point for the design of the training courses and the development of the associated training materials, including the course handbook and training manual. It will guide the work of the BLUE PORTS partners, including the National Technical Committees, training providers, educational institutions, and industry experts, who will collaborate to implement the training program and ensure that the content aligns with the identified skills needs and the strategic priorities of the project.2. TRAINING NEEDS ASSESMENTThe assessment of training needs was carried out during the implementation of task T2.3 Identification of present and future skills needs to be addressed by the BLUE-PORTS schemeby means of an online market survey and duly reported in the deliverable D2.5 Identification of Present and Future Skills Needs to be Addressed by the BLUEPORTS Scheme.The objective of the training needs assessment is to identify the essential skills and competencies required by port personnel to support the green transition in line with the BLUE PORTS scheme. The assessment focused on the current and future training needs necessary to meet the demands of sustainability and green technology integration within the port ecosystem.
